Pioneer Enterprises Pvt.Ltd. is an ISO 9001:2000 certified organization, engaged in manufacturing and supplying a premium quality range of Protective Packaging Material such as Edge Boards, PE Foam, polythelene foam, Air Bubble Sheets, Plastic Bubble Sheets, Polypropylene boxes and PP Boxes. IPI-Pune Chapter has organized a Seminar on ‘Latest Trends and Advancements in Engineering Polymers’ on 5th August 2016. This was sponsored by DSM Engineering Plastics, India and was supported by MAEER’s MIT, Pune. Dr S. Radhakrishnan, Chairman IPI Pune chapter welcomed the speakers & sponsors. This seminar was mainly focused on applications of DSM products in Auto Industry, General Industries, in Electronics/Electrical Applications.
Department of E&TC has organized a seminar on professional ethic connecting college to campus. Sunil Patil has trained the students of final year E&TC on various topics which are very important in the corporate world. Total 90 students attended the workshop.
The workshop was held on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (18-20 July 2016) for 7 hrs. from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The schedule of the workshop was divided into six sections.
The six sections were:
Introduction to Corporate Culture: Corporate culture refers to the beliefs and behaviors that determine how a company’s employees and management interact and handle outside business transactions.
Motivation and its impact: Organizations wish to perform successfully in the market and if possible to have a sustainable economic growth. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact produced by the motivation of employees on organizational effectiveness. Personnel motivation will involve criteria such as employees’ bonus, good communication within the working premises, and satisfaction at their job place.
Stress and Time Management: The aim of good time management is to achieve the lifestyle balance you want. Good time management at work means doing high-quality work, not high quantity.
Soft skills: Soft skills is a term often associated with a person’s “EQ” (emotional intelligence quotient), which is the cluster of personality traits that characterize one’s relationships with other people. These skills can include social graces, communication abilities, language skills, personal habits, cognitive or emotional empathy, and leadership traits.
Interview Handling Skills: Even the smartest and most qualified job seekers need to prepare for job interviews. So, there are 10 strategies to enhance your interview skills.
Resume Writing: Everyone needs a resume when job hunting. Writing a resume is a daunting task.
The parents meet was arranged on 23/07/2016 at E&TC Department for the parents of the students whose attendance was less than 75% during the period 15/06/2016 to 15/07/2016. 13 parents had attended the meeting. During the meeting feedback form by the parents were collected. Report of the same is attached. Dr. L. K. Kshirsagar (Principal) was present for the meeting. Dr. G. N. Mulay (HOD,E&TC) discussed the following points during the meeting:- Attendance of defaulter students. Strategy applied for the defaulter’s students. Discussion on different ways to improve student attendance in class and result improvement. Awareness about college discipline. Awareness about online exam of second year student and In-Sem Exam of Third and Final Year Students. Importance of attendance in the class with respect to placement. Implementation of credit system for second year 2016-17 course onwards. Awareness of different competitive exam like GATE, GRE etc. Interactive discussion took place between parents and teachers.
Three faculty members and twenty eight students of Information Technology Department visited TCS Sahyadri Park, Hinjewadi Phase III on 28th July 2016 TCS had organised “Testmony 2016” , a competition on Testing and assurance. More than 85,000 students all over India participated in that competition. Top 10 final teams were invited at TCS Pune campus for the mega final event which took place on 28th July 2016. Around 500 students and few faculty members from various institutions were invited for this event. Top 5 teams gave their presentation on their case study. Top three winners were selected and they were felicitated for their achievements. Also TCS offered provisional job offers for top 20 students. Prof. Dr. Sanjay Dhande was invited as a distinguished speaker and he gave his key note address on this event. Also Ms. Jayanti Natrajan , Head of Testing and Assurance delivered a speech in which she explored various career opportunities in Testing and Quality Assurance. Students also participated in the quiz conducted in this event. The event started at 8:30am and got over by 2:00pm. After lunch students were taken around to see the TCS campus. Our students and faculty enjoyed the event and students could gain the knowledge in testing domain.
Department of Information Technology had organized a guest lecture on Machine Learning on 30th July 2016. Dr. Shirish Karande, Sr. Scientist from TRDDC along with his two colleagues shared their knowledge in the Machine Learning area. Students got exposure to the research work that is getting carried out in the machine learning area in TRDDC and it was very useful in framing and finalising the project statement of the final year project. Students got various ideas in real world scenario which they could take up for their BE Projects. Fifty final year students , few faculty members from IT and other department attended this session. Session was scheduled for two hours from 11:15am to 1:15am, but due to interactions and queries from students and faculty it got extended upto 2:45pm.
Department of information Technology has organized an Industrial Visit for Second Year Students to Mapro Foods Private Limited: Mapro Garden and Chocolate Plant, Mahabaleshwar on 23rd July 2016. Total 29 students along with 5 Faculty members visited the place. Students were introduced to the process of chocolate making. The aim behind this visit to chocolate plant is to understand the automation process, and how it could be improved further using latest technology.
One day seminar was organized by Department of E&TC on ‘Graphology Awareness’ by Mr. Sandip Arsude, International Institute of Graphology, Kothrud, Pune. Topics discussed in the workshop are what is graphology? Graphology is the analysis of the physical characteristics and patterns of handwriting,which leads to identify the writer, indicate psychological state at the time of writing, or evaluate personality characteristics. In this workshop various points are discussed like how to make use of margins of the paper, how your signature should be, how we can change the personality of a person by making small changes in our handwriting? Finally the team of workshop has analyzed the handwriting of all the students and staff.
The expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Y Ravinder, Professor & Head, Dept. of Electronics & Telecommunication, PICT, Pune on Friday, 22 July 2016 in Department of E&TC. The lecture was organized for the students of third year. The lecture covered the basic concepts of Electrostatics and Magnetostatics and the physical interpretation of the same. This 2 hrs lecture helped the students to actually interpret the meaning of the mathematical expressions and made the subject interesting.
TEXEPHYR 2016 Continuing the legacy of 2015, the year 2016 witnessed digital evolution in many ways wherein the departments of Computer, E&TC, Mechanical and IT Engineering of MAEER’s Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune co-organize a National Level event “TEXEPHYR’16” on the 10th, 11th& 12th of March 2016. It witnessed enthusiastic participation from engineering students in various technical and non-technical events across all branches and the invaluable support shown by our title sponsors Accenture and together has ensured that the event was a great success.
