Parent-Teacher Meet of SE, TE, BE students

The parents meet was arranged on 23/07/2016 at E&TC Department for the parents of the students whose attendance was less than 75% during the period 15/06/2016 to 15/07/2016. 13 parents had attended the meeting. During the meeting feedback form by the parents were collected. Report of the same is attached. Dr. L. K. Kshirsagar (Principal) was present for the meeting. Dr. G. N. Mulay (HOD,E&TC) discussed the following points during the meeting:-  Attendance of defaulter students. Strategy applied for the defaulter’s students. Discussion on different ways to improve student attendance in class and result improvement. Awareness about college discipline. Awareness about online exam of second year student and In-Sem Exam of Third and Final Year Students. Importance of attendance in the class with respect to placement. Implementation of credit system for second year 2016-17 course onwards. Awareness of different competitive exam like GATE, GRE etc. Interactive discussion took place between parents and teachers.

Industrial Visit to TCS

Three faculty members and twenty eight students of Information Technology Department visited TCS Sahyadri Park, Hinjewadi Phase III on 28th July 2016 TCS had organised “Testmony 2016” , a competition on Testing and assurance. More than 85,000 students all over India participated in that competition. Top 10 final teams were invited at TCS Pune campus for the mega final event which took place on 28th July 2016. Around 500 students and few faculty members from various institutions were invited for this event. Top 5 teams gave their presentation on their case study. Top three winners were selected and they were felicitated for their achievements. Also TCS offered provisional job offers for top 20 students. Prof. Dr. Sanjay Dhande was invited as a distinguished speaker and he gave his key note address on this event. Also Ms. Jayanti Natrajan , Head of Testing and Assurance delivered a speech in which she explored various career opportunities in Testing and Quality Assurance. Students also participated in the quiz conducted in this event. The event started at 8:30am and got over by 2:00pm. After lunch students were taken around to see the TCS campus. Our students and faculty enjoyed the event and students could gain the knowledge in testing domain.


Guest lecture on Machine Learning

Department of Information Technology had organized a guest lecture on Machine Learning on 30th July 2016. Dr. Shirish Karande, Sr. Scientist from TRDDC along with his two colleagues shared their knowledge in the Machine Learning area. Students got exposure to the research work that is getting carried out in the machine learning area in TRDDC and it was very useful in framing and finalising the project statement of the final year project. Students got various ideas in real world scenario which they could take up for their BE Projects. Fifty final year students , few faculty members from IT and other department attended this session. Session was scheduled for two hours from 11:15am to 1:15am, but due to interactions and queries from students and faculty it got extended upto 2:45pm.

Industrial Visit

Department of information Technology has organized an Industrial Visit for Second Year Students to Mapro Foods Private Limited: Mapro Garden and Chocolate Plant, Mahabaleshwar on 23rd July 2016. Total 29 students along with 5 Faculty members visited the place. Students were introduced to the process of chocolate making. The aim behind this visit to chocolate plant is to understand the automation process, and how it could be improved further using latest technology.



One day seminar on ‘Graphology Awareness’

One day seminar was organized by Department of E&TC on ‘Graphology Awareness’ by Mr. Sandip Arsude, International Institute of Graphology, Kothrud, Pune. Topics discussed in the workshop are what is graphology? Graphology is the analysis of the physical characteristics and patterns of handwriting,which leads to identify the writer, indicate psychological state at the time of writing, or evaluate personality characteristics. In this workshop various points are discussed like how to make use of margins of the paper, how your signature should be, how we can change the personality of a person by making small changes in our handwriting? Finally the team of workshop has analyzed the handwriting of all the students and staff.





Expert lecture on Magnetostatics

The expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Y Ravinder, Professor & Head, Dept. of Electronics & Telecommunication, PICT, Pune on Friday, 22 July 2016 in Department of E&TC. The lecture was organized for the students of third year. The lecture covered the basic concepts of Electrostatics and Magnetostatics and the physical interpretation of the same. This 2 hrs lecture helped the students to actually interpret the meaning of the mathematical expressions and made the subject interesting.





TEXEPHYR 2016 Continuing the legacy of 2015, the year 2016 witnessed digital evolution in many ways wherein the departments of Computer, E&TC, Mechanical and IT Engineering of MAEER’s Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune co-organize a National Level event “TEXEPHYR’16” on the 10th, 11th& 12th of March 2016. It witnessed enthusiastic participation from engineering students in various technical and non-technical events across all branches and the invaluable support shown by our title sponsors Accenture and together has ensured that the event was a great success. Computer Engineering Department Alumni Meet 2016

For the Alumni meet ,alumni of all batches were invited and total 53 Alumni were present for the event. This meet brought together different generations of alumni right from 1988-89 batch till 2014-15 batch. Prof. Dr. Vrushali Kulkarni, on behalf of the College, extended a warm welcome to the alumni for coming down to join the Meet. She then informed them about the recent activities that are taking place in the department and the efforts that department is persevering in order to fulfill industry requirements. Alumni and Staff engaged in an informative discussion about the academia and placements & industry expectations. Another topic that was put up for discussion was “Entrepreneurship”. Amongst who were present here that day; about 7-8 alumni have started their own company. They shared their experiences and gave brief about their company. Prof. Sheetal Vij presented vote of thanks.Alumni were given a token of appreciation, a book called “ The Last Lecture “, by Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch. After the program alumni had their lunch at chadralok and took a tour of the college. This event enhanced the relationship among the alumni and enabled them to discuss on various issues. The alumni and the organizer reaffirmed to strengthen the bond between the alumni and their alma-mater.

Autodesk Fusion 360 Training

Fusion 360TM is the first 3D CAD, CAM, and CAE tool of its kind. It connects your entire product development process in a single cloud-based platform that works on both Mac and PC. Fusion is that step to getting to another place. It’s about making your ideas come to fruition faster. The software training for Auto desk Fusion 360 by Auto desk Bangalore was organized by Mechanical Engineering Department for SE mechanical students and faculty members on 26-March-2016. The training will include Pre design, Design and Introduction to Mechanical Analysis. Also Free software Licences will be provided to students. The trainer gave a brief lecture on introduction and application of Auto desk Fusion 360. Two tutorials performed for hands on experience.The students found this training quite useful, also they will get authorized lenience of this software after training.

Affinity and confluence 2016

Affinity and confluence 2016 was hosted by the Polymer Engineering department of Maharashtra Institute of Technology. The function started with the prayer followed by a welcome speech by the head of Polymer Students Association Mr. Aditya Sarkar. Introductory addresses were done by Dr. K.D.Patil, Head of the Department, Dr Radhakrishnan, Director of Research Development and Innovation,MIT, and Dr. L.K. Kshirsagar, Principal,MIT. Dr. L.K. Kshirsagar then felicitated Mr. Unmesh Nayak (Senior Vice President, Reliance Industries), Mr. Rahul Chivate (General Manager, APPL GOR India Pvt ltd) and Mr. Anil George (President (Corporate Affairs) and CFO at Voltas Limited). This was followed by the felicitation of the star Alumni Mr. Hemant Minocha, Mr. Hitendra Saundankar, Mr. Abhijit Sarkar, Mr. Ranjeet Jadhav, Mr. Abhijeet Jail, Mr. Sachin Jain and Mr.Vishal Kadakia. TheAlumni then addressed the audience about the scope and importance of the Plastics Engineering field. Our guests for the evening Mr. Unmesh Nayak , Mr. Rahul Chivate and Mr. Anil George gave brief presentations and addressed the audience about their respective companies, industrial aspect and potential that plastics hold in the future. The non-teaching staffs were then felicitated by Dr. L. K. Kshirsagar, Principal,MIT. Final year student Mr. Abhijit Yelve presented a radium art show and Mr.Kushal Jaju performed a few songs on a piano. The inauguration concluded with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Kaustubh Islampure, the head of the Polymer Students Association.
