An industrial visit of B.E. (Polymer) students to APPL Industries Ltd. at Hinjewadi, Pune was organized by Polymer Engineering Department. Prof.Mrs. Deepali S. Kulkarn, Prof. Mrs. Pallavi T. Tatpate, Prof. Ms. Sheetal Lanjewar, Mrs. Manjusha Shedge, Mr. A. Patil and Mr. Baba Shaikh participated in the visit. APPL was established in the year 1990. In a span of just two decades APPL has become one of the leading compounder of engineered thermoplastics in India with an enviable production capacity of 100,000 MTPA. APPL has been providing material solutions to the Indian Auto Manufacturing Units, which is at par with the global standards. APPL has a range of products like pre-coloured & UV stabilized compounds based on Polyolefins & Engineering plastics modified with minerals, glass fiber / beads, wood flour, flame retardants etc. APPL’s expertise combines blends and alloys of various plastics, colour concentrates and Specialty Masterbatches. Add on course on Sensing and Control using Intel Galileo is organized by Electronics and Telecommunication Department on 9-Jan-2016 (Saturday) at 8:30 AM. The course includes Theory sessions, hands on experience and development of small projects based on Intel Galileo Gen2 board in a group of 2 or 3 students.

Course Objectives:
1.To explore capabilities of Intel Galileo Gen2 Boards .
2.Study of signal acquisition and conditioning.
2.To understand specifications of Galileo development Board.
3.To understand Arduino hardware and programming environment.
4.To develop an application using the board
